Why do so many people not use condoms in the face of all the risks of sexually transmitted infections today?

I am curious to find the answer to this question.  There are so many infections today which are sexually transmitted. 

 Many of them are 100% preventable with the use of  condom yet, we have an increase in the number of people affected by HIV, Syphlis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Trichomonas and the HPV.

I would greatly appreciate your input as to why people are not only neglecting to use condoms, but in some cases becomming repeatedly infected with STI's.
